A tape-recorded interview with Robert B. L. Murphy, lawyer and longtime resident of Madison, Wis., conducted in July, 1995 by Judy Pierotti. Mr. Murphy discusses his personal and family history, such as relationships with his siblings and parents, childhood experiences, and so forth. Of particular interest is his discussion about his relationship with his father and his father's role in the Madison Park and Pleasure Drive Association. He also reminisces about Madison and the University of Wisconsin. The second portion of the interview focuses on Murphy's legal education and experience in the legal profession. He discusses his various law partners and their specialties, and names his heroes in the legal and judicial fields. This interview has not been transcribed.
